Description This antibody was produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, recombinant Human alpha-Galactosidase A (rh alpha-Galactosidase A; Catalog#12078-H08H; AAP36507.1; Met1-Leu429). The IgG fraction of the cell culture supernatant was purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
About alpha Galactosidase and Purified
alpha Galactosidase This gene encodes a homodimeric glycoprotein that hydrolyses the terminal alpha-galactosyl moieties from glycolipids and glycoproteins. This enzyme predominantly hydrolyzes ceramide trihexoside, and it can catalyze the hydrolysis of melibiose into galactose and glucose. A variety of mutations in this gene affect the synthesis, processing, and stability of this enzyme, which causes Fabry disease, a rare lysosomal storage disorder that results from a failure to catabolize alpha-D-galactosyl glycolipid moieties.
