About Fibroblast Activation Protein alpha and Biotin
Fibroblast Activation Protein alpha | The protein encoded by this gene is a homodimeric integral membrane gelatinase belonging to the serine protease family. It is selectively expressed in reactive stromal fibroblasts of epithelial cancers, granulation tissue of healing wounds, and malignant cells of bone and soft tissue sarcomas. This protein is thought to be involved in the control of fibroblast growth or epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during development, tissue repair, and epithelial carcinogenesis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2014] |

Detection of Human Fibroblast Activation Protein alpha/FAP by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of WI-38 human lung fibroblast cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.5 µg/mL of Sheep Anti-Human Fibroblast Activation Protein alpha/FAP Biotinylated Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # BAF3715) followed by Streptavidin-HRP (Catalog # DY998). A specific band was detected for Fibroblast Activation Protein alpha/FAP at approximately 97 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1. |
