About RNF8 and Purified
| RNF8 | The protein encoded by this gene contains a RING finger motif and an FHA domain. This protein has been shown to interact with several class II ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes (E2), including UBE2E1/UBCH6, UBE2E2, and UBE2E3, and may act as an ubiquitin ligase (E3) in the ubiquitination of certain nuclear proteins. This protein is also known to play a role in the DNA damage response and depletion of this protein causes cell growth inhibition and cell cycle arrest. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012] |

Detection of Human RNF8 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line and U2OS human osteosarcoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Sheep Anti-Human RNF8 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF7114) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Sheep IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF016). A specific band was detected for RNF8 at approximately 65 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1. |
