About Importin alpha 2 and Purified
Importin alpha 2 | The transport of molecules between the nucleus and the cytoplasm in eukaryotic cells is mediated by the nuclear pore complex (NPC), which consists of 60-100 proteins. Small molecules (up to 70 kD) can pass through the nuclear pore by nonselective diffusion while larger molecules are transported by an active process. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the importin alpha family, and is involved in nuclear protein import. This protein interacts with the recombination activating gene 1 (RAG1) protein and is a putative substrate of the RAG1 ubiquitin ligase. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Importin alpha 2/KPNA2 in NTera-2 Human Cell Line. Importin alpha 2/KPNA2 was detected in immersion fixed NTera-2 human testicular embryonic carcinoma cell line using Mouse Anti-Human Importin alpha 2/KPNA2 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB62071) at 10 µg/mL for 3 hours at room temperature. Cells were stained using the NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (red, upper panel; Catalog # NL007) and counterstained with DAPI (blue, lower panel). Specific staining was localized to nuclei and cytoplasm. View our protocol for Fluorescent ICC Staining of Cells on Coverslips. |
