Clone REA600
Host Human
Isotype IgG1
Conjugate PE-Vio770
Target Species Human
Applications FC
Description Clone REA600 recognizes the human interferon gamma (IFN-γ) antigen, a cytokine of type II class interferons. IFN-γ is produced by lymphocytes that are involved in inflammatory immune responses. It functions as a potent activator of macrophages, increases the antiviral and antitumor effects of the type I interferons, and has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells. IFN-γ is predominantly released by memory and effector CD4+ and CD8+ T cells as well as by NK cells upon activation. | Additional information: Clone REA600 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
About IFN-gamma and PE-Vio770
IFN-gamma This gene encodes a soluble cytokine that is a member of the type II interferon class. The encoded protein is secreted by cells of both the innate and adaptive immune systems. The active protein is a homodimer that binds to the interferon gamma receptor which triggers a cellular response to viral and microbial infections. Mutations in this gene are associated with an increased susceptibility to viral, bacterial and parasitic infections and to several autoimmune diseases. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
PE-Vio770 PE-Vio® 770 from Miltenyi Biotec is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines pycoerythrin (PE) and Vio®770. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Vio®770, which emitts light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. PE-Vio®770 has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 775 nm and is a common alternative to PE-Cy7 and PE-H7.
