IL-6 CF640R (MP5-20F3, Rat) - Reactivity: Mouse

Product Details
Description IL-6 is a potent lymphoid cell growth factor that stimulates the growth and survivability of certain B-cells and T-cells. IL-6 plays a role in host defense, acute phase reactions, immune responses, and hematopoiesis. IL-6 is expressed by T-cells, B-cells, monocytes, fibroblasts, hepatocytes, endothelial cells and keratinocytes.Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF® Dyes and other labels. CF® Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent dyes like CF®405S and CF®405M are not recommended for detecting low abundance targets, because blue dyes have lower fluorescence and can give higher non-specific background than other dye colors.

About IL-6
This gene encodes a subunit of the interleukin 6 (IL6) receptor complex. Interleukin 6 is a potent pleiotropic cytokine that regulates cell growth and differentiation and plays an important role in the immune response. The IL6 receptor is a protein complex consisting of this protein and interleukin 6 signal transducer (IL6ST/GP130/IL6-beta), a receptor subunit also shared by many other cytokines. Dysregulated production of IL6 and this receptor are implicated in the pathogenesis of many diseases, such as multiple myeloma, autoimmune diseases and prostate cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified in this gene. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 9. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2020]
About CF640R
CF®640R from Biotium is a fluorophore with an excitation peak at 642 nm and an emission peak at 662 nm. It can be useful in both fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. It is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor™ 647, DyLight™ 649 and Cy5.
