Description | Clone REA907 recognizes the human and mouse EZH2 protein, a methyltransferase which plays an essential role in the regulation of homeobox gene expression. EZH2, also known as enhancer of zeste homolog 2, belongs to the polycomp group (PcG). Members of this family play an essential role in stem-cell identity as well as cellular differentiation during development via transcriptional repression and disease. EZH2, first described in drosophila, is found in higher levels in different kind of tumor cells, and it is also expressed in thymocytes, and, depending on their stage, subsets of T cells and B cells. | Additional information: Clone REA907 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
About EZH2 and PE
EZH2 | This gene encodes a member of the Polycomb-group (PcG) family. PcG family members form multimeric protein complexes, which are involved in maintaining the transcriptional repressive state of genes over successive cell generations. This protein associates with the embryonic ectoderm development protein, the VAV1 oncoprotein, and the X-linked nuclear protein. This protein may play a role in the hematopoietic and central nervous systems. Multiple alternatively splcied transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. PE | Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts. |
