Description Clone REA780 recognizes the CD20 antigen, a non-glycosylated transmembrane protein of 33–37 kDa that is expressed on B lineage cells from the pre–B cell stage to the B cell lymphoblast stage. The antigen is further expressed on most malignant B cells. CD20 is not found on early B cell progenitors or plasma cells. Oligomers of CD20 form a Ca 2)+ channel and might function in the regulation of local responses during B cell activation. | Additional information: Clone REA780 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
About CD20 and PE-Vio770
CD20 This gene encodes a member of the membrane-spanning 4A gene family. Members of this nascent protein family are characterized by common structural features and similar intron/exon splice boundaries and display unique expression patterns among hematopoietic cells and nonlymphoid tissues. This gene encodes a B-lymphocyte surface molecule which plays a role in the development and differentiation of B-cells into plasma cells. This family member is localized to 11q12, among a cluster of family members. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants which encode the same protein. PE-Vio770 PE-Vio® 770 from Miltenyi Biotec is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines pycoerythrin (PE) and Vio®770. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Vio®770, which emitts light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. PE-Vio®770 has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 775 nm and is a common alternative to PE-Cy7 and PE-H7.
