Description | Clone REA766 recognizes the human KLF2 antigen, a member of the Krüppel-like factor family of zinc finger transcription factors. KLF2, also known as LKLF or Krueppel-like factor 2, is found mainly in lungs and in lower levels in heart, spleen, skeletal muscle, and testis. KLF2 is involved in lung development, embryonic erythropoiesis, epithelial integrity, T cell viability, and adipogenesis. | Additional information: Clone REA766 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
About KLF2 and PE
KLF2 | This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the Kruppel family of transcription factors. The encoded zinc finger protein is expressed early in mammalian development and is found in many different cell types. The protein acts to bind the CACCC box found in the promoter of target genes to activate their transcription. It plays a role in many processes during development and disease including adipogenesis, embryonic erythropoiesis, epithelial integrity, inflammation and t-cell viability. PE | Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts. |
