Description Clone REA730 recognizes the human CD31 antigen, also known as PECAM-1. CD31 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and is involved in leukocyte transmigration, angiogenesis, and integrin activation. CD31 is a 120–140 kDa single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on endothelial cells, monocytes, platelets, granulocytes, and several lymphocyte subsets. During maturation of CD4+ T cells, the expression of CD31 changes: CD4+ recent thymic emigrants (RTEs) express CD31 in contrast to central naive T cells. CD31 is highly expressed on endothelial cells, especially at their juncture. | Additional information: Clone REA730 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
About CD31 and PE-Vio770
CD31 The protein encoded by this gene is found on the surface of platelets, monocytes, neutrophils, and some types of T-cells, and makes up a large portion of endothelial cell intercellular junctions. The encoded protein is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and is likely involved in leukocyte migration, angiogenesis, and integrin activation. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
PE-Vio770 PE-Vio® 770 from Miltenyi Biotec is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines pycoerythrin (PE) and Vio®770. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Vio®770, which emitts light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. PE-Vio®770 has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 775 nm and is a common alternative to PE-Cy7 and PE-H7.
