Description This antibody recognizes both the recombinant and the natural form of human interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) (1). This antibody does not react with human IL-4, IFN-alpha or acid inactivated IFN-gamma, and it shows only a minimal reactivity with heatinactivated IFN-g (<0.05%) (1).
About IFN-gamma and DyLight 488
IFN-gamma This gene encodes a soluble cytokine that is a member of the type II interferon class. The encoded protein is secreted by cells of both the innate and adaptive immune systems. The active protein is a homodimer that binds to the interferon gamma receptor which triggers a cellular response to viral and microbial infections. Mutations in this gene are associated with an increased susceptibility to viral, bacterial and parasitic infections and to several autoimmune diseases. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
DyLight 488 DyLight™ 488 has an excitation peak at 493 nm and an emission peak at 518 nm and is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor™ 488, fluorescein and FITC. DyLight™ 488 is most commonly used in flow cytometery, and fluorescence microscopy applications.
