Description ED5 staining reveals a web-like pattern in B cell follicles, representing the follicular dendritic cells. Mesangial cells in the kidney are also ED5-positive.
About EDAR and DyLight 550
EDAR This gene encodes a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor family. The encoded transmembrane protein is a receptor for the soluble ligand ectodysplasin A, and can activate the nuclear factor-kappaB, JNK, and caspase-independent cell death pathways. It is required for the development of hair, teeth, and other ectodermal derivatives. Mutations in this gene result in autosomal dominant and recessive forms of hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia. DyLight 550 DyLight™ 550 has an excitation peak at 562 nm and an emission peak at 576 nm and is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor™ 546, Alexa Fluor™ 555, Cy3 and TRITC. DyLight™ 550 is most commonly used in flow cytometery and fluorescence microscopy applications.
