About CD15 and PE
CD15 The product of this gene transfers fucose to N-acetyllactosamine polysaccharides to generate fucosylated carbohydrate structures. It catalyzes the synthesis of the non-sialylated antigen, Lewis x (CD15). [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2009]
PE Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.

Flow cytometry analysis of SSEA-1 in F9 (red filled histogram) and NCCIT cells (red unfilled histogram) compared to unstained cells (blue histogram). Positive staining is observed on F9 cells when compared to no antibody control (middle panel) and to SSEA-1-negative undifferentiated NCCIT cells (right panel). Cells were fixed with 2% paraformaldehyde and washed with PBS. Cells were blocked with 2% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature, and incubated with a PE-conjugated SSEA-1 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA1-022-PE) in 2% BSA-PBS at a dilution of 1:100 for 60 minutes at room temperature. Cells were washed and re-suspended in PBS for FACS analysis.
