| Description |
The 24F antibody reacts with CD86 (B7-2), a member of the Ig superfamily of transmembrane proteins. CD86, a ligand for CD28 and CD152 (CTLA-4), is one of the accessory molecules that plays an important role in T cell-B cell costimulatory interactions. CD86 is predominantly expressed on antigen-presenting cells. It can be upregulated on splenic B cells by in vitro polyclonal activation, such as LPS treatment. 24F mAb is reported to block the costimulatory function of rat CD86 and to immunoprecipitate CD86 from Lewis-S1 cell lysates.HTLV-1-transformed rat T-cell line Lewis-S1 |

About CD86
This gene encodes a type I membrane protein that is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. This protein is expressed by antigen-presenting cells, and it is the ligand for two proteins at the cell surface of T cells, CD28 antigen and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4. Binding of this protein with CD28 antigen is a costimulatory signal for activation of the T-cell. Binding of this protein with cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 negatively regulates T-cell activation and diminishes the immune response. Alternative splicing results in several transcript variants encoding different isoforms.[provided by RefSeq, May 2011]

About RealYellow 775
RealYellow™ 775 (RY775) from BD Biosciences is an alternative to PE-Cy7, PE-Vio 770 (Miltenyi) and PE-eFluor 780 (ThermoFisher) tandem fluorophores and has the advantage of discrete excitation off of the 561 nm laser without much cross-beam excitation by the 488nm laser. This limited cross-beam excitation will translate to lower complexity index scores and lower spillover spreading error in high parameter spectral flow cytometry applications.
