Description Clone REAL1459 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Synaptotagmin antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL1459 recognizes Synaptotagmin, a family of membrane-trafficking proteins that function as calcium sensors in the regulation of neurotransmitter release and hormone secretion. Mice and humans express 17 synaptotagmin isoforms, where most studies have focused on isoforms 1, 2, and 7, which are involved in synaptic vesicle exocytosis. Synaptotagmins have been shown to regulate exocytosis in other intracellular organelles such as lysosomes, suggesting its role in mediating repair following brain damage by interacting with lysosomes. | For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675). |
About Synaptotagmin and APC
Synaptotagmin The synaptotagmins are integral membrane proteins of synaptic vesicles thought to serve as Ca(2+) sensors in the process of vesicular trafficking and exocytosis. Calcium binding to synaptotagmin-1 participates in triggering neurotransmitter release at the synapse (Fernandez-Chacon et al., 2001 [PubMed 11242035]).[supplied by OMIM, Jul 2010]
APC Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
