About IL-17F and CoraFluor-1
IL-17F The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that shares sequence similarity with IL17. This cytokine is expressed by activated T cells, and has been shown to stimulate the production of several other cytokines, including IL6, IL8, and CSF2/GM_CSF. This cytokine is also found to inhibit the angiogenesis of endothelial cells and induce endothelial cells to produce IL2, TGFB1/TGFB, and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1. CoraFluor-1 CoraFluors are luminescent terbium complexes developed by the Mazitschek lab at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University. The high brightness, long emission lifetimes (> 1 ms) and excellent stability of CoraFluors make them well-suited tools for biomedical assay applications, including homogenous and intracellular time-gated fluorescent measurements (e.g., homogenous and intracellular TR-FRET assays). CoraFluors can be excited with near-UV light and exhibit several narrow emission bands (490 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm, 620 nm), providing compatibility with a broad range of organic fluorophores and fluorescent proteins in TR-FRET experiments.
