Description The RDR5 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with human CD127, a 60-90 kDA type I transmembrane glycoprotein also known as the IL-7 receptor alpha chain. CD127 binds with CD132 (gamma c) to forms the IL-7 receptor that is expressed on mature T cells and immature B cells. Since CD127 expression is downregulated in Treg cells, it can be used as a marker for differentiating them from common T cells. The binding of the RDR5 antibody can be blocked by pre-incubating the cells with human IL-7. -
About CD127 and PE-Cy5
CD127 The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for interleukin 7 (IL7). The function of this receptor requires the interleukin 2 receptor, gamma chain (IL2RG), which is a common gamma chain shared by the receptors of various cytokines, including interleukins 2, 4, 7, 9, and 15. This protein has been shown to play a critical role in V(D)J recombination during lymphocyte development. Defects in this gene may be associated with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID). Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
PE-Cy5 PE-Cyanine®5 (PE-Cy5) is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines phycoerythrin (PE) and Cy5. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Cy5. PE-Cy5 has an excitation peak at 496 nm and an emission peak at 667 nm.
