About Brachyury and Alexa Fluor 488
Brachyury The protein encoded by this gene is an embryonic nuclear transcription factor that binds to a specific DNA element, the palindromic T-site. It binds through a region in its N-terminus, called the T-box, and effects transcription of genes required for mesoderm formation and differentiation. The protein is localized to notochord-derived cells. Variation in this gene was associated with susceptibility to neural tube defects and chordoma. A mutation in this gene was found in a family with sacral agenesis with vertebral anomalies. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2018]

Detection of Brachyury in D3 Mouse Cell Line by Flow Cytometry. D3 mouse embryonic stem cell line differentiated with mouse serum for 4 days was stained with Goat Anti-Human/Mouse Brachyury Alexa Fluor® 488-conjugated Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # IC2085G, filled histogram) or isotype control antibody (Catalog # IC108G, open histogram). To facilitate intracellular staining, cells were fixed with Flow Cytometry Fixation Buffer (Catalog # FC004) and permeabilized with Flow Cytometry Permeabilization/Wash Buffer I (Catalog # FC005).
