About CD11b and StarBright Yellow 605
CD11b This gene encodes the integrin alpha M chain. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This I-domain containing alpha integrin combines with the beta 2 chain (ITGB2) to form a leukocyte-specific integrin referred to as macrophage receptor 1 ('Mac-1'), or inactivated-C3b (iC3b) receptor 3 ('CR3'). The alpha M beta 2 integrin is important in the adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to stimulated endothelium, and also in the phagocytosis of complement coated particles. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]
StarBright Yellow 605 StarBright Yellow 605 (SBY605) Dye is a bright 561 nm excitable dye with a unique and narrow emission that unlike PE-tandems with similar emissions, is not excited by the 488 nm laser. Suitable for use in conventional and full spectrum flow cytometry and compatible with other StarBright Dyes without the requirement for a special buffer, it is as bright as PE-Dazzle594 when excited by the 561 nm laser. SBY605 is not a traditional tandem dye so unlike PE-based tandems can be fixed in PFA or alcohol-based fixatives with no loss of signal or changes to the spectral profile giving you reduced spillover and more flexibility in your experiments.
