Description CD28 is a 44 kD glycoprotein and a member of the Ig superfamily. In its capacity as a costimulatory receptor, CD28 produces co-stimulatory signals necessary for T cell activation and survival. CD28 is the only B7 receptor constitutively expressed on naive T cells. Without having this CD28/B7 interaction, T cells will fail to respond to their specific antigen when coming in contact with an MHC/antigen complex and thus, are said to be anergic.
About CD28 and DyLight 594
CD28 The protein encoded by this gene is essential for T-cell proliferation and survival, cytokine production, and T-helper type-2 development. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]
DyLight 594 DyLight™ 594 has an excitation peak at 593 nm and an emission peak at 618 nm and is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor™ 594 and Texas Red. DyLight™ 594 is most commonly used in flow cytometery and fluorescence microscopy applications.
