Description Clone REA764 recognizes CD326, also known as human epithelial antigen (HEA), epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM), or epithelial-specific antigen (ESA), and is involved in cell adhesion. The CD326 antigen is broadly expressed on the basolateral surface of carcinoma and epithelial cells in tissues or on circulating tumor cells and cancer stem cells, but is not found on melanoma, neuroblastoma, sarcoma, lymphoma, leukemia cells, or normal fibroblasts. Furthermore, it is suggested, that CD326 could be used as a surface marker for human ESCs. | Additional information: Clone REA764 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
About CD326 and Vio Bright R720
CD326 This gene encodes a carcinoma-associated antigen and is a member of a family that includes at least two type I membrane proteins. This antigen is expressed on most normal epithelial cells and gastrointestinal carcinomas and functions as a homotypic calcium-independent cell adhesion molecule. The antigen is being used as a target for immunotherapy treatment of human carcinomas. Mutations in this gene result in congenital tufting enteropathy. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]
Vio Bright R720 Vio® Bright R720 and Vio® R720 have an excitation peak at 695 nm and an emission peak at 720 nm, which means that these dyes are optimally excited by the 640 nm red laser while the emitted light is collected by the channel with a 725/40 bandpass filter. Miltenyi Biotec's proprietary multimerization technology allows for Vio® Bright R720 to be nearly twice the brightness of Vio® R720, so this choice of fluorophore offers flexibility in your panel design in flow cytometry. Spectrally, Vio® Bright R720 is comparable to R700 from BD Biosciences.
