Description | Clone MAR-1 detects the alpha subunit of the murine high-affinity Fc receptor for IgE. The receptor is composed of one alpha-, one beta-, and two disulfid-linked gamma subunits, of which the alpha subunit binds IgE. FcεRIα is expressed on mast and basophilic cells and is up-regulated in the presence of IgE. The FcεRI complex plays an important role in triggering IgE-mediated allergic reactions. |
About Fc epsilon R1 alpha and APC
Fc epsilon R1 alpha | The immunoglobulin epsilon receptor (IgE receptor) is the initiator of the allergic response. When two or more high-affinity IgE receptors are brought together by allergen-bound IgE molecules, mediators such as histamine that are responsible for allergy symptoms are released. This receptor is comprised of an alpha subunit, a beta subunit, and two gamma subunits. The protein encoded by this gene represents the alpha subunit. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011] | |

APC | Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm. |
