Description | The monoclonal antibody 16-10A1 recognizes mouse CD80 also known as B7, B7-1 or Ly-53. The 55 kDa member of the Ig superfamily is expressed on activated B cells, macrophages and dendritic cells. The interaction of CD80 and CD152 (CTLA-4) or CD28 induces T cell proliferation and cytokine production.
About CD80 and APC
CD80 | The protein encoded by this gene is a membrane receptor that is activated by the binding of CD28 or CTLA-4. The activated protein induces T-cell proliferation and cytokine production. This protein can act as a receptor for adenovirus subgroup B and may play a role in lupus neuropathy. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

APC | Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm. |
