Description Clone BB27 recognizes the CD101 antigen, also known as V7 or IGSF2, which is a 140 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the Ig gene superfamily. CD101 is expressed on monocytes, granulocytes, and subsets of dendritic cells (DCs). In addition, CD101 is expressed on certain subpopulations of T cells, in particular about 5–30% of FoxP3+ Treg cells in peripheral blood. | The interaction of CD101 with the antibody BB27 has been shown to inhibit T cell activation by allogeneic DCs or CD3 antibodies.
About CD101 and APC
CD101 Predicted to enable hydrolase activity, acting on carbon-nitrogen (but not peptide) bonds, in cyclic amides. Predicted to be involved in cell surface receptor signaling pathway. Predicted to act upstream of or within positive regulation of myeloid leukocyte differentiation. Located in extracellular exosome. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]
APC Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
