Description | The monoclonal antibody B3B4 recognizes CD23, also known as low affinity IgE Fc receptor (FcεRII), a type II integral membrane glycoprotein. CD23 is expressed on mature B cells, but not on CD5+ B-1 cells, activated B cells, follicular dendritic cells of immunized mice and on a subset of splenic dendritic cells. Clone B3B4 is reported to block IgE binding to FcεRII. |
About CD23 and PE-Vio770
CD23 | The protein encoded by this gene is a B-cell specific antigen, and a low-affinity receptor for IgE. It has essential roles in B cell growth and differentiation, and the regulation of IgE production. This protein also exists as a soluble secreted form, then functioning as a potent mitogenic growth factor. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011] | |

PE-Vio770 | PE-Vio® 770 from Miltenyi Biotec is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines pycoerythrin (PE) and Vio®770. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Vio®770, which emitts light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. PE-Vio®770 has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 775 nm and is a common alternative to PE-Cy7 and PE-H7. |
