Description | Rabbit polyclonal antibody to CD55, which is also known as CR and DAF. CD55 is frequently found in the plasma membrane and is expressed in the mandibular arch muscles and hindlimb ventral muscle. It is overexpressed in the whole blood and cerebrospinal fluid. This protein recognizes C4b and C3b fragments that condense with cell-surface hydroxyl or amino groups when nascent C4b and C3b are locally generated during C4 and C3 activation. It can extensively act as a receptor for coxsackievirus A21, coxsackieviruses B1, B3 and B5. - |
About CD55 and CF488A
CD55 | This gene encodes a glycoprotein involved in the regulation of the complement cascade. Binding of the encoded protein to complement proteins accelerates their decay, thereby disrupting the cascade and preventing damage to host cells. Antigens present on this protein constitute the Cromer blood group system (CROM). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. The predominant transcript variant encodes a membrane-bound protein, but alternatively spliced transcripts may produce soluble proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014] | |

CF488A | CF®488A from Biotium is a fluorophore with an excitation peak at 490 nm and an emission peak at 515 nm. It is spectrally similar to Fluorescein, Alexa Fluor™ 488 and DyLight™ 488. It can be use in fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. In microscopy, CF®488A has been specifically validated for STORM, STED, Structured Illumination (SIM), 2-Photon microscopy and TIRF. |
