About CD220 and Brilliant Ultraviolet 615
CD220 This gene encodes a member of the receptor tyrosine kinase family of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate alpha and beta subunits that form a heterotetrameric receptor. Binding of insulin or other ligands to this receptor activates the insulin signaling pathway, which regulates glucose uptake and release, as well as the synthesis and storage of carbohydrates, lipids and protein. Mutations in this gene underlie the inherited severe insulin resistance syndromes including type A insulin resistance syndrome, Donohue syndrome and Rabson-Mendenhall syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2015]
Brilliant Ultraviolet 615 BD Horizon Brilliant™ UltraViolet 615 (BUV615) is a tandem dye has an excitation peak at 348 nm and has an emission maximum of 616 nm. This dye is part of the Brilliant™ UltraViolet dye family, developed and sold by BD Biosciences. This family of dyes uses BUV395 as the donor so that all dyes in the family can be excited by the 355 nm UV laser. Depending on the acceptor, the dyes in this family have different relative brightness ratings.
