Description OCT2 is a transcription factor of the POU homeo-domain family that binds to the Ig gene octamer sites, regulating B-cell-specific genes. OCT2 expression can be used as a marker of B-cell lineage and differentiation. Germinal center B-cells, mantle B-cells, monocytoid B-cells, and plasma cells show high level expression of OCT2. Additionally, mantle cell lymphoma, follicular lymphoma, marginal zone lymphoma, plasmacytoma, Burkitt lymphoma, diffuse large cell lymphoma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma display increased expression of OCT2. Several studies of OCT2 expression have shown a low level expression in pre-B, T-cell, myelomonocytic, and epithelial cell lines, whereas all mature B-cell lines have high levels of expression. In spite of scanty evidence for OCT2 expression in T cells, it is believed that this factor participates in transcriptional regulation during T-cell activation.
About OCT-2 and DyLight 405
OCT-2 Polyspecific organic cation transporters in the liver, kidney, intestine, and other organs are critical for elimination of many endogenous small organic cations as well as a wide array of drugs and environmental toxins. This gene is one of three similar cation transporter genes located in a cluster on chromosome 6. The encoded protein contains twelve putative transmembrane domains and is a plasma integral membrane protein. It is found primarily in the kidney, where it may mediate the first step in cation reabsorption. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
DyLight 405 DyLight™ 405 has an excitation peak at 400 nm and an emission peak at 420 nm and is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor™ 405 and Cascade Blue. DyLight™ 405 is most commonly used in flow cytometery and fluorescence microscopy applications.
