Description CD34 Monoclonal Antibody, Pacific Blue™ conjugate (581). CD34 is a highly glycosylated monomeric 111-115 kDa surface protein, which is present on many stem cell populations. It is a well established stem cell marker, though its expression on human hematopoietic stem cells is reversible. CD34 probably serves as a surface receptor that undergoes receptor-mediated endocytosis and regulates adhesion, differentiation and proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and other progenitors. CD34 expression is likely to represent a specific state of hematopoietic development that may have altered adhering properties with expanding and differentiating capabilities in both in vitro and in vivo conditions.FACS Assay Dependent
About CD34 and Pacific Blue
CD34 The protein encoded by this gene may play a role in the attachment of stem cells to the bone marrow extracellular matrix or to stromal cells. This single-pass membrane protein is highly glycosylated and phosphorylated by protein kinase C. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Pacific Blue Pacific Blue® (Pac Blue, PacBlue) is a blue-emitting organic fluorophore that can be excited by the 405 nm Violet laser and captured with a 450/50 nm bandpass filter. Pacific Blue has an excititaion peak at 401 nm and an emission peak at 452 nm.
