About CD14 and PE-Texas Red
CD14 The protein encoded by this gene is a surface antigen that is preferentially expressed on monocytes/macrophages. It cooperates with other proteins to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide, and to viruses. This gene has been identified as a target candidate in the treatment of SARS-CoV-2-infected patients to potentially lessen or inhibit a severe inflammatory response. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2020]
PE-Texas Red PE-Texas Red is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines pycoerythrin (PE) and Texas Ted. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Texas Red. PE-Texas Ted has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 615 nm. It is spectrally comparable to PE-eFluor™ 610, PE-Dazzle 594 and PE-CF®594.
