Description | The antibody recognizes cleaved Rb (DRb-p70). The antibody does not recognize full-length Rb. In camptothecin treated HL60, an ~68 kDa band is observed. DRb-p70 exists in vivo as an N-terminally truncated form of Rb (Liu et al.). DRb-p70 is thought to be the product of alternative translation and is expressed in primary myeloid cells in fetal liver, bone marrow and spleen. DRb-p70 is also specifically expressed in tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs). TAMs are an important targets of cancer therapy. DRb-p70 is a marker of TAMs, and maybe useful for identifying tumors with macrophage infiltration (Liu et al, 2005). |
About RB1 and DyLight 550
RB1 | The protein encoded by this gene is a negative regulator of the cell cycle and was the first tumor suppressor gene found. The encoded protein also stabilizes constitutive heterochromatin to maintain the overall chromatin structure. The active, hypophosphorylated form of the protein binds transcription factor E2F1. Defects in this gene are a cause of childhood cancer retinoblastoma (RB), bladder cancer, and osteogenic sarcoma. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] | |
