About UBA2 and Alexa Fluor 405
UBA2 Posttranslational modification of proteins by the addition of the small protein SUMO (see SUMO1; MIM 601912), or sumoylation, regulates protein structure and intracellular localization. SAE1 (MIM 613294) and UBA2 form a heterodimer that functions as a SUMO-activating enzyme for the sumoylation of proteins (Okuma et al., 1999 [PubMed 9920803]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2010]
Alexa Fluor 405 Alexa Fluor™ 405 (AF405, Alexa 405) has an excitation peak at 401 nm and an emission peak at 421 nm and is similar in size, brightness and application to ABflo 405® (ABclonal) and Cascade Blue® (ThermoFisher Scientific). Alexa 405 is commonly used in flow cytometery and fluorescence microscopy applications.
