Description Clone REA1106 recognizes the cell adhesion molecule human CD49a, which is a 200 kDa heterodimeric integrin receptor. CD49a, also known as integrin α1, interacts with integrin β1 (CD29) to form the VLA-1 complex which functions as a receptor for collagen and laminin-1. Integrin α1 plays a role in cell-cell adhesion and T cell proliferation and is expressed by activated T cells, NK cells, neuronal cells, fibroblasts, and mesenchymal cells. | Additional information: Clone REA1106 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
About CD49a and Biotin
CD49a This gene encodes the alpha 1 subunit of integrin receptors. This protein heterodimerizes with the beta 1 subunit to form a cell-surface receptor for collagen and laminin. The heterodimeric receptor is involved in cell-cell adhesion and may play a role in inflammation and fibrosis. The alpha 1 subunit contains an inserted (I) von Willebrand factor type I domain which is thought to be involved in collagen binding. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
