Description | Clone REA598 recognizes the CD294 antigen, also known as chemoattractant receptor-homologous molecule expressed on Tʜ2 cells (CRTH2). CD294 is a seven-transmembrane G protein–coupled receptor for prostaglandin D2 involved in migration of leukocytes and is expressed on T helper type 2 (Tʜ2) cells, a subpopulation of CD4+ T cells, but not on Tʜ1 cells. The CD294 antigen is highly expressed on peripheral blood basophils and eosinophils. It is also present on a small population of CD8+ T cells and on a subpopulation of dendritic cells (DCs). | Additional information: Clone REA598 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
About CD294 and PE
CD294 | This gene encodes a G-protein-coupled receptor that is preferentially expressed in CD4+ effector T helper 2 (Th2) cells. This protein is a prostaglandin D2 receptor that mediates the pro-inflammatory chemotaxis of eosinophils, basophils, and Th2 lymphocytes generated during allergic inflammation. Single nucleotide polymorphisms in the 3' UTR of this gene have been associated with asthma susceptibility.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011] | |

PE | Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts. |
