Description The FR10-11G9 clone antibody recognizes CD26, a costimulatory molecule that is involved in T cell activation. CD26 is a type II transmembrane protein that acts as an ectoenzyme with prolyl oligopeptidase activity. It is widely expressed in various tissues. In the immune system CD26 is expressed on thymocytes, activated T cells, B cells, NK cells, and macrophages.
About CD26 and APC
CD26 The DPP4 gene encodes dipeptidyl peptidase 4, which is identical to adenosine deaminase complexing protein-2, and to the T-cell activation antigen CD26. It is an intrinsic type II transmembrane glycoprotein and a serine exopeptidase that cleaves X-proline dipeptides from the N-terminus of polypeptides. Dipeptidyl peptidase 4 is highly involved in glucose and insulin metabolism, as well as in immune regulation. This protein was shown to be a functional receptor for Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), and protein modeling suggests that it may play a similar role with SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19. APC Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
