| Description | CDC2/CDK1, a CDC2/CDK -type protein kinase, regulates cell cycle transitions G1 to S and G2 to M. CDC2/CDK1 is maintained in an inactive state by phosphorylation by kinases MYT1 and WEE1. The active kinase, called the M-phase promoting factor, consists of a heterodimer with cyclin B, and final activation at G2/M results from CDC25 phosphatase-mediated dephosphorylation of CDC2/CDK1. |
