Description | Rabbit polyclonal to CCL1.C-C motif chemokine 1 (CCL1) belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family. CCL1 is produced by T-cell after stimulation by antigen or induction by concanavalin a (Con-A), and is chemotactic for neutrophils. The polymorphisms of CCL1 in strains DBA/2J and SJL/J may be associated with severity of clinical symptoms of experimental allergic encephalomyelitis, an animal model of multiple sclerosis, and susceptibility to the monophasic remitting/nonrelapsing form of the disease. |
About CCL1 and Purified
CCL1 | This antimicrobial gene is one of several chemokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Chemokines form a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of the N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide. This chemokine, a member of the CC subfamily, is secreted by activated T cells and displays chemotactic activity for monocytes but not for neutrophils. It binds to the chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 8. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014] |
