Alexa Fluor® 568 (AF568, Alexa 568) is a orange-emitting synthetic fluorophore that can be excited by the 561 yellow-green or 594 nm orange laser and captured with a 630/69 nm bandpass filter. AF568 has an excitation peak at 578 nm and an emission peak at 603 nm, and is spectrally similar to Texas Red (ThermoFisher Scientific), DyLight™ 594 (ThermoFisher Scientific), iFluor™ 594 (ATT Bioquest), and PE-Dazzle™ 594 (BioLegend). AF568 is commonly used for flow cytometry, microscopy, super-resolution microscopy as well as imaging applications. It is very bright, photostable, and pH insensitive, all of which contribute to sensitive detection while using this dye. The Alexa Fluor dye family was originally developed by Molecular Probes, now a part of ThermoFisher Scientific. AlexaFluor is a registered trademark of Invitrogen, ThermoFisher Scientific. Alexa Fluor dyes come in a wide variety of modified formats that allow for easy conjugations or right out of the box use.
