About SureLight RPC

SureLight RPC is a red emitting dye that can be excited by the 561 laser and emission captured by the 630/69 filter. It is commonly used in the following applications: Flow Cytometry, Antibody Labeling. Columbia Biosciences manufacturers a line of natural dyes from algae under the SureLight brand including R-Phycoerythrin (RPE), B-Phycoerythrin (BPE), Peridinin Chlorophyll (PerCP), Allophycocyanin (APC) and our proprietary P3 (comprised of C-PC and APC). P3 has absorption and emission profiles similar to Cyanine 5 and is 200X brighter. Columbia grows the algae in large scale fermentation tanks and harvests the dyes in-house. This allows the company to control quality, consistency, and inventory of these products. The company also makes synthetic dyes such as Europium chelates and SureLight 488. SureLight 488 competes with AlexaFluor 488 and FITC but offers a much more stable signal generation than FITC and is half the cost of Alexa Fluor 488.
