This intronless gene encodes a member of the SRY-related HMG-box (SOX) family of transcription factors involved in the regulation of embryonic development and in the determination of cell fate. Vio® Bright V423 is a very bright Violet emitting synthetic fluorophore used in flow cytometry. The excitation and emission peaks are 399 nm and 420 nm, respectively, which means that this dye is optimally excited by the 405 nm Violet laser while the emission light is collected by a 450/50 bandpass filter.
