The protein encoded by this gene is a surface antigen found on all peripheral blood T-cells. The encoded protein interacts with LFA3 (CD58) on antigen presenting cells to optimize immune recognition. RayBright Red 780 is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore of APC, excited by the 633 nm red laser and transfers energy to deeper red-emitting acceptor molecule which emits light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter.
